To answer your questions, Roon does not backup your music library. That is something you can do outside of Roon; our subscribers discuss different ways of doing that here:
The Roon backup includes all data about how you use Roon: your playlists, your preferences, your history, your settings, profiles, etc. This is stored locally on your machine/ Core. Having a backup of your Roon database in more than one location (your Nucleus, in this case), is recommended.
