Thanks so much for taking the time to write in, and my sincerest apologies for the sudden increase in volume! This is an issue we’re actively investigating.
If possible, are you able to share a timestamp (date, time) of when the issue occurred? With that, please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader so we can take a closer look into what might be going on at the time of the volume spike.
In the meantime, we do have a short-term workaround that sets up automation to avoid any additional issues while we work on a fix:
This involves downloading the ‘Shortcuts’ app from the app store.
After downloading this app, follow the steps below:
- Locate and open the Shortcuts app.
- If you don’t see an Automation choice, but you do see < Shortcuts at the top of the screen, click it.
- Click Automation.
- Click Create Personal Automation.
- Scroll down the New Automation screen until you find App, and click it.
- Click Choose, next to App.
- Find and select Roon.
- Click Done at the top.
- Select the radio button for Is Closed.
- Deselect the radio button for Is Opened.
- Click Next at the top.
- Click Add Action.
- In the search bar, type: Volume.
- Select Set Volume.
- Adjust Set volume to to the appropriate %.
- Optionally turn off Ask Before Running.
- Click Done at top.
