So there’s a feature in Roon where you can create playlists and add music to your library if adding from a streaming source such as tidal. What happens if you’ve added a bunch of songs to your library and created playlists which consist of songs located on your nas, tidal, wherever and you decide that tidal is too expensive or they suddenly go out of business. Replacing Tidal albums with local ones - any way to keep play history/counts etc

This might be a simple one but not sure how to do it if it’s possible. Have recently started buying quite a lot of my favourite Tidal albums - either download or CD rip. Once I add them, assuming all identifies, I set the local copy to primary. But then all the play counts are ‘zero’. Is there any way to carry this info over? Albums sorted by most played is one of my most common views, so that causes a bit of an issue, but also would like to keep the play counts anyway (and favourite tracks …

Copying Custom Credits from one album to another?

The addition of custom credits is fantastic, but it requires a lot of work, that I am happy to do…once. The problem is I have many albums in multiple versions, ie: Original Release, Digital Remaster, DSD etc etc… So is there any way to copy ALL of the custom credits I have added form one album to another instead of having to re-enter them all for each copy of the album?

That lets you choose which new version to add to your library.

When album changes, I lose play counts, I lose hearts and I lose songs in playlists. Your ‘you’ is simply meaningless… Roon needs to handle the change transparently to users. I don’t care about album versions, I care about things working without wasting my time and effort…

And, the issue has always stemmed from the nature of music licensing. The vagaries of music licensing are outside of our control. Each label/publisher handles things differently, which complicates the matter.

To you, it looks like exactly the same album, but that’s not always the case. On the backend, some of the identifying information from the rightsholder may change. As I said, we’re investigating a solution. It’s not the simple fix you think that it is.

I understand it’s complicated to solve this automatically, but it seems that 2 things within Roon would be a big improvement that could mitigate things a lot. It would be great if this was possible:

• Giving us a list of the unavailable albums/tracks in Roon, which seem to be known to Roon anyway.
• Letting us copy our in-Roon credit edits (and whatever else may be associated with an album like hearts, rating, playcounts) from one album to another. This would be super helpful in many other situations, anyway, such as switching between Tidal and Qobuz, a new version of an album being released (which we might make the primary and hence should carry the credits we previously added to a different version), or simply a new album by an artist (so we could copy credits from another album and just change/remove a few edits instead of redoing credits from scratch for the new one)
