Connection unstable and slow user interface

ROON disconnects regularly, Album artwork loads slowly and volume slider suffers from severe lag.

Problems are preventing us from demoing the product as present.

HI Richard,

Until the support guys get here, can you describe some of the following:

  1. What are you running Roon on? If it is not a Nucleus, then what are the computer specs.

  2. What endpoint/DAC are you connected to?

  3. Information about the network topology:
    a. How is the computer running Roon connected to the network
    b. How is the DAC or DACs connected to the network
    c. What is the make of any Router or Switches these connections are running throuhg

Some general ideas -

  1. If there are some wireless hops in your audio chain, try using an ethernet cable instead.
  2. If you have just set Roon up and you have just pointed Roon to a music store, then Roon will do an audio analysis of all the music. this is very processor intensive and can take quite a while to finish. You can test to see if this is the case by going to Settings / Library, try setting the “Background Audio Analysis Speed” to OFF and see if responsiveness improves. You can turn it on again later. Also, if it is doing analysis there should be a counter displayed in the library section.

Some basic information might help.
As a dealer surely you would ask for this if it was a customer contacting you?

Can you please provide some more information regarding your setup using this thread as a guide?

What Core are you using? What are you using as your Roon Remote? Does this issue occur with all of your remotes? Can you please let me know your network setup?
