Certification doesn’t mean we’ll get native MC DSD from roon to this box. And from there natively out over HDMI.
But, we’d have two options to check. First, without any additional roon endpoint in between, directly attached via ethernet. Second, with e.g. a ROCK box connected via USB to the EverSolo. My guess… only one option will work, if at all
Let’s hope for the best. My AVR has built-in PCM and DSD DAC. Hope it uses them wisely
Other manufacturer said integrating full native MC DSD processing from all relevant inputs would lead to very expensive licensing. That may be the reason only very exotic gears offer this, with a price of a car
If this should be the case full native MC DSD chain (via roon) is dead for most of us. Let’s hope and pray
Hegel never advertised Roon Ready until they were certified. They promised to do it, took a long time to do it and, btw, did a fantastic job with the Roon implementation. So, no analogies here, I guess. I suppose they’ve learned the lesson because recently they came up with a TV remote integration that had not been promised beforehand, which is cool.
My setup
Roon ROCK → Ethernet → Eversolo A6 → HDMI → Yamaha CX5200…
MCH DSD Native works.
a. Roon path shows no conversion.
b. A6 shows MCH DSD received
c. Yamaha Front panel display shows DSD
d. Yamaha Input Info shows MCH DSD received.
What kind of DSD over HDMI transmission do you use, which one is set in roon? native DSD, dCS method or DoP?
I’ve only had three RR devices but every one of them advertised RR at launch but didn’t have it until well after.
Neither of those applies to HDMI.
AJ
In ROCK it does. No such or similar options with EverSolo?
Hello friends of money and ears,
I got my DMP yesterday and Roon native DSD MCH works perfectly over HDMI to my Denon AVR. As you can see, my thought is working on that.
Just a small cable and a few hundred bucks later and I’m very happy!! I just hope Roon doesn’t program it because he’s Roon ready and afterwards it’s only possible to convert it to PCM.
To get to the point, you can see that it works. So far, the Roon side has always said that it’s due to Zidoo/Eversolo etc. if it doesn’t work anymore at some point, you know the culprit (hopefully not arriving).
Best regards, your native DSD MCH listener
Willy
Eversolo HDMI option are Auto, D2P (DOP) and Native
I have it as Native
Not a perfect analogy, no, but the PTSD was real for some.
There was the thread here where HEGEL’s VP of marketing (or something) kept promising that roon readiness “should be right around the corner” for about two years.
True. I’m aware of that. Cheers
Are they good to go now? I know they said they had passed the Roon Ready certification and were just waiting on some marketing assets. I see that they are showing the Roon Ready logo on their site again but I do not see them on the partners page.
Check how it’s showing in your Roon Audio Devices. If it’s showing as NEO S, then it’s not Roon Certified yet. When it gets Roon Certified, it will show as DMP-A6.
That’s a great idea, if you own one. I am wanting to purchase something and was intending it to be one of these. I’m not going to though unless it is certified as Roon Ready. After all this drama I may reconsider anyway.
Not without a f/w update.
According to ES they have been granted RR certification. Just waiting for it to become “official” (appear on the partners page and for ES to make the f/w available or at least be given an ETA of when it will be).
I believe the official importers into Australia are Selby.
Their adverts states multiple times that the device is Roon ready. Sunday 2 July 15:48
I love my Roon, I have mine on order, I’m hoping all will end well as it should.
Nice and I’m jealous. I’m still waiting for the official certification.
I see that you purchased the Master Edition. Nice

Congratulations!! The next happy user. I’m sure ;-))
To use it with Roon MCH DSD upgrade to 1.1.70 Firmware!!
Have fun
all the best
