Focus: Storage Location + Genre not possible with streaming services?

If I select a streaming service in Focus there is no option to select Genres.

Or if a Genre is selected I can’t select a Streaming Service.

Roon is set to use Genres extracted from file tags.

Has this always been the case with Focus?
I’m feeling like it wasn’t.

Works for me (I don’t have Qobuz).
This is on PC:

Are you doing this on a tablet? Android?

:frowning:
Works here, I do not have Qobuz

but it is true:

I’ll change the setting and post again

Works again

Thanks.
I was nearly sure I was able to do this as recently as yesterday morning.
I’ve just added Qobuz and deleted 250 or so Tidal albums.
R.I.P. my database? :sob:

It’s happening on an iOS tablet and an Android tablet.
Using Roon Server.

Do you have a backup? Maybe restore one. But first I would try on a comp, I’m on a comp and I do not have a tablet to try

I will fire up my tablet and see what it does.
I did try it on my android phone and it works.
I would also try getting rid of either tidal or qobuz and see what happens?

Oh that’s a good idea.
I’ll try deleting and re-adding the Services.

I’ll also have a look at the Roon app on the Core PC.

Thanks for the immediate responses @bearFNF and @Traian_Boldea
I will not panic

First try removing them from the focus, is what I meant …

EDIT:
Sheesh, I need a new tablet, took a while to start it up.

But it works, again just tidal here but the genres are there if I focus on Tidal. and vice versa.
A caveat for me is that I am on the early access builds.
You might also check to see if there are any updates needed.

Tried removing and re-adding Services and checked on the Desktop app.
No change.

But I’ve looked at some of my Tidal or Qobuz albums I don’t see any genre info.
So that would explain things but shouldn’t there be Genre info there?

I’m about to switch to using Roon Genres and see what happens but this will take a while for Roon to parse.
I’ve had issues in the past using File Tag Genres.

Did you try rebooting/restarting network and all that? Might help?

Oh good lord.
I totally changed my Network setup last night.
I didn’t even think to do a total restart.
The first thing one should do lol
Thanks for that. Fingers crossed.

Works for me on Android phone with Qobuz as well. Trying iPad would require me to move on the couch, but let me know if needed

Ack, I haven’t used this tablet for a while and I just noticed that the album count on the tablet is not the same as on the phone or PC… I might just pretend I never saw it… crap OCD kicking in, I need to find out why…

Weird it is only not the same on the My Albums page, the home pages match???

Sorry!
But I take some comfort knowing I’m not alone in needing to know why things are happening.

Update: Total system/network reboot didn’t help.
So as I like to smugly say: Correlation is not causation.

Waiting for Roon to parse my library with Roon Genres enabled.
Can someone please confirm (or deny) they can see genre information when looking at Tidal or Qobuz releases?
As mentioned I cannot.

Thanks.
At least we’re getting somewhere.
Puzzling that I can no longer see genre info for Streaming Services.

Another thing to try would be to delete the tidal and qobuz cache files (or rename them as backup, but deleting them should not hurt anything).
This is usually a step that is taken when you have trouble logging in, so not sure if it will help??

The files should be in the RoonServer\cache directory.
This is what mine looks like on nuc\ROCK:

Not sure why I have qobuz files? maybe the default?

With Roon Genres (and metadata genres) enabled things work as expected.
So good but……
It concerns me that this problem didn’t exist before today and slightly (or maybe more than slightly) annoys me that my “What You’ve Been Listening To” stats are now different and IMO just wrong :woman_shrugging:
