Nice. Can I assume the Avantegarde Trios with the 6 bass bins are a system that you heard at a friends place but do not own? I have not heard the 100 towers but I have heard the 150 towers at ATC a few years ago when I visited with Ben Lilly. Ben played an Aerosmith SACD which was mastered on ATCs. I was duly impressed. I really like the look of the tower series especially the latest art deco styles. At the time I visited ATC I had ATC SCM 100A pros.

Active: Dynaudio XD200 in Main Room (Absolutely love these; they are small, great dynamic range, soundstage, they do almost everything right by my ears)
Passive: SNELL ACOUSTIC Type C-V/C5 in Family Room (I’ve had these for nearly 20 years and they still sound very balanced)

@TonyV Yes great all in one unit.I replaced mine with the floor stander Dynaudio XD60…4 drivers…
I’ve been in the audio hobby a very long time and the Dynaudio Focus XD are probably one of the last speakers I’ll ever purchase. I’m certain the price sways some in different directions but when you consider they incorporate DSP, Amplification, DAC they are a sensible choice.
Don’t knock them, they sounded just fine for the price

Not quite as drool-worthy as most of the above but they do make me happy. Since I got the second sub I have been cured of my upgrade-itis. Now instead of researching upgrades I mess around with Roon and hang out here.

Arendal 1723 Tower, full range passive speaker with 8” drivers from Norway. Much finesse and very clean and powerfull bass. Can go very, very loud… but even on low volumes they are impresive.

Yip, the Avantgarde Trios were heard at the best Hi-Fi experience store I’ve encountered. A full floor of a large apartment/ office block decked out as a place to relax and listen to a large variety of kit. Appointment only to make the concept workable so you don’t have 10 systems playing at once, and there’s no pressure to buy anything - the owner is a through and through music lover rather than hifi peddler.
The ATCs are in storage since moving to the UK.
I scored a pair of light walnut Dali Opticon 8 speakers today at 50% off (demo pair from the showroom) for (occasional) use with my 1978 vintage Technics rack.I will pick them up on Friday.
The rack has been sitting here for years unused with no speakers.
Looking forward to some needle dropping

Passive. Recently replaced Naim Credos with Neat Motive SX2’s and am really enjoying them. Great sound and easy to live with.

What do you drive the Totem Tribe Towers with? I have a pair in the glossy white with grill, driven by Devialet Expert 220. By far the funnest combo I’ve ever listened to. Such a distinct and “big” sound.
Yes Indeed. Love the sound. Those drivers are amazing.
I am using a Peachtree Nova 300. I home demo’d a NAD C388 and the Nova 300 with my new speakers. The Peachtree sounded better (Gotta love dealers that let you demo at home.)
Ultimately, I am thinking of pairing it with a McIntosh. Every time I’ve seen a Totem demo with Vince Bruzzese, he has Totems paired with McIntosh Amps. I believe it was a MAC7200 last time. Sounded amazing.
Speaking of the last demo, I ordered my Tribe Towers right then. I had gone to check out the speakers and because the company hosting it was giving 10% off all Totem speakers. I originally was going to get the Forest Signatures that I had be wanted for awhile, but, after I heard the Tribe Towers demo’d I was like “Damn” and got them instead. LOL

Active & DSP - Recently acquired Dutch and Dutch 8C speakers - incredible is one way of describing this speaker, in that they just get completely out of the way of the music…
