Issue with playing hi-res Tidal music in Roon after subscription upgrade (ref#QG5V18) [Resolved with Build 1401]

OK, Just confirmed my Hi Res HDTrack files do indeed play at their stated resolution so my issue is the same Tidal issue Roon is already aware of. I did recently update to the latest Tidal software so my issue tracks with the the other users. Thanks!

Hi @Glumite,

This change has already been implemented internally and will be released with the next Roon update shortly.

Although I have not been given technical info on how this transition should work, for those users whose accounts are not getting Max yet, I assume they may need to logout Tidal from Roon (and/or Tidal app, update Tidal app to the latest), and relogin to Tidal.

No. They need to wait for the updated Roon app that will be released soon. Now, it’s possible they will need to log out and back in after they have the new Roon update.

Hi, I have problem with Tidal. I had Tidal HiFi plan which at 10.04 changed by Tidal to Indyvidual (with Hires files etc). This is noticable in Tidal’s Desktop App, where “Max” streaming quality apeared.

In Roon’s Settings/Services/Tidal I can only choose “High” Streaming Quality. There’s no option “Max”, and all files are playing on 16/44 quality. Have Qobuz too and there’s no problem with Roon and plays full 24/192.
What is the problem ?

Please check the forum …

Thank You Martin.

As the screenshot was from my Roon preferences then yes it was to cater for my preferences, adjust your preferences accordingly and be happy.

I can't select MAX in the Tidal settings, only High and less. This means I can't listen to the Tidal files in HD, even though Tidal offers them to me with my subscription. What can I do?

When I play a Tidal 192 FLAC, it plays at 44.1 when using CA CXN100 as Roon end point. I do not have any filters. How do I get it to play at 192 kHz. Many thanks

I run latest Roon 2.0.32 on Mac. I have TIDAL account connected to Roon. As of 10th of April TIDAL upgraded all accounts to HiRes FLAC (24/192). My Roon is playing max 16/44.1 both on Mac (external audio card is capable of 32/192 and switched to 32/192) and via USB (Cambridge Audio Streamer capable of 24/192). How can I play HiRes files?

This is a known issue. It will get resolved with the next update.

Hopefully this will be out before the 20th, my Qobuz sub expires then and after that I’m just on Tidal so it would be nice to still have hires content.

Is that why I only seem to be able to get 44.1kHz 16bit from Tidal’s 192kHz 24bit source files? On my Qobuz version it pulls in the 192 source just fine.

Go with Qobuz. No issues here!!! Lol.

Yes. I found out when having issues with Tidal playlists that they put the fix into the next production version but early access would have to wait longer until their next release. I ended up just moving back to production release and just read about the upcoming features. It seems the production release is usually only a week later than early release.

I kind of wish they would also get the early release version to match the production version in case there are a few weeks between releases.
