Issue with playing hi-res Tidal music in Roon after subscription upgrade (ref#QG5V18) [Resolved with Build 1401]

Roon Lifetime member here for years. No MAX availible for me. Have tried log logout from Tidal and back again without any luck. Roon updated to latest version on Roon ROCK - Using Early Access.

Please help!

Please God make it all stop

I’d recommend reading the title of this topic and the link in first post.

Could you please sum it up for me? Are we waiting for an update here or is it anything I can do to fix this?

They are working on a fix that will be included in the next version of Roon.

Grumbles under his breath Folks never paid for the hi-res, unlike HiFi Plus people like me, but expect it to work right away. At least for former Hifi Plus users hi-res already works.

I’m grumbling about reading being a lost art.

CD quality was fine until hi res became “free”, now it’s urgent. Unbelievable, really.

I am a paying subscriber of Qobuz Premier (192/24) - If the tech department at Roon can fix this I will cancel my Qobuz subscription and stay with my Tidal subscription.

No hurry but I pay for both every month today.

Qobuz isn’t affected by this issue. As for TIDAL hi-res music, as the thread title says, …

“Ticket In, Fix in next release”. All that’s needed is a little patience.

I am subscribed to both Qobuz and Tidal. Qobuz Sublime actually as it is my preferred service. I’ve used to be Tidal HiFi Plus as well.

Yes, I sub to both and have for a long time, both have their merits but I prefer Qobuz.
Many people are jumping ship from Qobuz and expected Tidal hires to work in Roon from Wednesday, when it didn’t the forum was hit with repeat posts about the same thing, largely from people who don’t search before posting.

Describe the issue

Tidal streaming quality is limited to High. Max is not in the pull-down menu. Is this a bug?

No, read the notification pinned to support

If you read it closely, it’s says fix is coming in the next Production release. That is separate from the early release.

If you are running early release you will then need to wait for the next early release to see this fix. There is no set schedule that is posted to see when this will be. If you can’t wait, you can always switch back to production release once the fix is out.

I would have thought the early release version is always ahead of production but that’s not the case. They can make last minute fixes that just go straight to production and never hit early release.

This is a typical but when it occurs Roon do back fit the changes and an new EA build is released a few days later.

Or sooner.
Ten.

Describe the issue

I’m not able to play high res music from my Tidal account anymore. It shows as source 44.1 kHz allthough a high res track is selected.

Will the high res Tidal version have better resolution than Qobuz?

No. Does anyone need higher than ultrasonic frequencies?
