Issue with Tidal playlist synchronization in Roon after update (ref#1073DU) [Roon Investigating]

I did a backup on Friday night.

Saturday
When I opened Roon on Saturday morning it was showing only a few thousand albums out of 18000+, but the circles were pumping and 20-30 albums were being added every 10 seconds or so. So it seemed that my whole database was being added again.

I checked it again at 12.04 pm (Lunchtime) Saturday and it was at 18461. At 12.06 I opened the Services Setting and synced Qobuz again, however when i opened Tidal it was saying “Syncing library now”. I logged out of Tidal and then back in. The white circle started and the Album count went to 18644.

Rather than logging in and out I started to disable and enable the Tidal Services and at 12.32 pm the count went to 18666.

At 1.27 pm I was playing music (tidal songs) asnd the music stopped and I got a blank queue screen saying “This album has been deleted” and the Album count had dropped to 18641.

At 1.28pm My history showed the songs as being played, however the Play Queue did not show any of the Tidal Tracks, only the Qobuz tracks. GAVE UP!! This was the last time I played any music on Roon.

Sunday
At 2.07am on Sunday morning the Album count was now 18678.
At 9.43am the Album count was 18645
At 9.48am after Disable and Enable the count was 18658. Did not check again on Sunday.

Monday
At 10.30am the Album count was 18688.
At 10.33am after Disable and Enable the count was 18699.
At 11.27am the Album count was 18725.
I added an Album on the Tidal App to see if it would flow through to Roon.
At 12.53pm after Disable and Enable the Album (Billy Ocean) was still not showing on Roon and of the last 18 Albums added as per the Tidal App only 12 are showing in Roon.
At 1.58pm which is now the Album count is 18726 and that is because i added a Qobuz Album on another Music Playing App this morning and it flowed through to Qobuz and through to Roon in under a minute or so.

And Tidal is still showing “Syncing Library Now” I have screenshots pretty much showing all the points above, but if i add them it will add 5 pages to this thread.

Edit: At 4.15pm Album count is 18736. But latest Tidal additions are still not there…

Hi @Fergus_B,

Thanks for the report! Our team is still investigating things further - apologies for the delay. I hope to have more information to share this week.

Thanks @benjamin FYI count is now 18736 with 1 album that i added yesterday morning coming thru. Still a few missing!! What is interesting is that only 1 Song was added, not the entire album. Checked the last 20 Tidal Albums added in the Library and this occurred twice. Screenshot attached.

Tidal has released an update on June 11th. Since then the challenge with the never ending library synchonization within Roon and the Tidal services did occur. Until now a week later I do have no new favourites marked in Tidal sychronized into Roon. Maybe the latest Tidal 2.37.8.59 has something to do with the current challenge.

I would really appreciate if Roon can assign a higher priority to (ref#1073DU) since this malfunction prevents listing to favourized (up to a week now) new music in Roon currently.

Yeah agreed, its kind of making roon unuseable currently. Have to use tidal instead. Be good to have somemore updates

The problem has existed for a good week and nothing has changed. Loads 150 albums from Tidal out of almost 4000. Sometimes a good 2000 albums are loaded, but never all of them. When I switch from album to playlist and back again, all albums and playlists are gone. Unfortunately, Roon is currently unusable in conjunction with Tidal because I can’t use it. I have now canceled the Roon subscription. I can still use Roon for just under three weeks. If it doesn’t get any better, I’ll be right to cancel.

Another update:

Upgraded to the latest early release and it looks like it’s back to normal.

Latest build , Early Access 1431, hasn’t fixed the Tidal syncing issue for me.

Sync with Tidal is still unfonctionning. Is there anyboby from the Roon staff to explain what happens ? If that exists somewhere thanks for telling me. Would be very much appreciated.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Issue with Tidal Integration in Roon after Internet Provider Switch (ref#PKM44V)

Roon Server/Client on Windows 10 with latest updates - Tidal with latest release from 11th June 2024

Since June 11th the synchronization of albums in my collection in Tidal with Roon is broken. Roon settings/services/Tidal shows constantly ‘library is synchronizing’, but nothing is happening. All 20 (except 4?, do not know why those albums made it into Roon) albums added into my collection in Tidal are not synchronized into Roon since 10 days now.

All older albums (than 11th June 2024) are available in Roon as before. Can please somebody from Roon look urgently into this challenge - at the end this (never ending but incomplete) synchronization issue make Roon unusable in conjunction with Tidal for (almost) any new selected album since mid of last week

Have you tried rebooting your server instance? I have found it fixes many library issues.

Yes, I have rebooted the Roon server instance multiple times. I have deactivated and activated Tidal in Roon/Settings/Services and cleared the cache in Tidal plus reinstalled Tidal. Without success.

Thanks. I personally dont use tidal but checked with a friend who is not a forum member and his is ok. We are in the U.S. so could that make a difference? Sorry for the issue.

Any news on this issue?

My “Tracks” library is an absolute mess. For some reason showing 13k tracks when I only have between 2-3k in my actual Tidal library. It is the same tracks duplicated in the Roon library whereas totally fine in my Tidal library. The sort functions in the UI isn’t working properly. This de-sync is insane.

Hi All,

Thanks for your patience while our team continues to investigate.

@Fergus_B you may also be encountering a similar, but different issue thats tied to large volumes of Various Artsits content leading to odd library counts. You can learn more about that here: Build 1392 through 1401: Album Covers Missing, Orphaned Tracks from Compilation Albums [Roon Investigating]

Our dev team will need a copy of a database of an affected user, @Snook you provided a specific example in reply to Connor, perhaps a copy of your database would prove helpful for the team, if you could please:

  1. Zip up your RoonBackups folder (right-click it and select “Compress…”):
  2. Submit the .zip file to us through our Database portal

Thank you!

@Mark_Apperly were you viewing Roon from your same windows machine, or from your mobile remote device? I see only your windows is updated to early access, while your remote is still on production. This may cause odd behavior - I’d be curious to know if updating all devices may help as @Kentaga_Kartadinata has mentioned.

We hope to have more information early next week.

Hi Benjamin. Thanks for providing that link. I have read through it, but none of those issues were occurring on my Server. It was just the one issue, suppose we could say two, in that the Syncing Now feature was always on, and that a number of the added Albums never made it to destination Roon.
Hoping that something will be resolved in due course and if I read that it is, I will look to subscribe again.

Uploading 7GB of logs now, lucky I have 250/100 internet!

How do I update my core and clients to the ‘latest early release’ to potentially fix??

Found this https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/roon-early-access-program#Moving_NAS_servers_back_to_production

But im running in docker, so that complicates switching. Pity you cant just select early access as an option under updates in the client…

I have the same issue with playlist and albums syncing. Albums added in Roon show up in Tidal, but albums added in Tidal don’t show up in Roon with a constant never-ending status “syncing library now” without actually syncing. The early access version doesn’t help.
