This morning I moved the power supply (original as supplied with my shipment) of my Nucleus (Rev B, purchased from Roon in November 2023; Serial Number can be supplied) to a new UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) strip because of adverse weather conditions in my location (Los Angeles: high winds and the possibility of power outages).
I did not (re)move or resite Ethernet or USB cables.
Now, no matter what I do: gentle press of the circular, silver on/off power button with long (4 second) or short (press and release) with finger and carefully with or without toothpick etc I cannot get the Nucleus to power on.
Nothing shows in the web interface: http://192.168.0.221. Times out as ‘Cannot find…’ etc.
There is no pale (white) light on the front of the Nucleus; No device shows in Finder Network.
Roon 1490 on macOS 15.2 wants to re-initialise etc.
How can I bring my beloved Nucleus back to life, please?
Thanks for writing in - I’m so sorry to hear about your Nucleus!
A few other things to test:
Can you revert back to the other power source and see if it may be related to the UPS?
Do you by chance have another power cable you could test with, other than the originally supplied cable?
Hook up a monitor via HDMI and see if you get anything on the screen after an attempted power on (with the device still connected to your network.)
If none of the above help, we’ll likely need to get an RMA started, as they’re in charge of all hardware-related Nucleus issues. To do so, open the Typeform link below and select ‘Other’ followed by 'This issue is related to a physical component".
