Naim Muso 2 not visible in Roon App devices occasionally (ref#MVY7BA)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble connecting to Roon

What type of connection issue?

· Something else

Describe the issue

Hello,
Since sometimes my Naim Muso 2 is not viewable in devices in Roon App and I cannot get it back.
All my network is using Ethernet connexion.
My naim muso 2 is ok using naim app for streaming so it is connected to the internet.
Everything worked flawlessly since recently (Roon last version, naim muso 2 firmware 4.4.0)

Describe your network setup

I am using it all over ethernet, orange live box 4 as internet box, netgear switches. I don't know why it doesn't work anymore, maybe some bugs ? Last Naim Muso firmware 4.4.0 ? (I don't know if it happened before or after firmware update)
It is second time it happens but this time I cannot get it back on network.

I rebooted everything and it is still unvisible (rebooted box, Roon server, Roon app etc.)

Has there been a recent firmware update , there was for the Uniti Atom HE tied in with Tidal’s change to MAX

The iOS app updated too

Worth a check ?

Everything is up to date, I just checked

For muso there has been a recent fw update (4.4.0) but I’m not sure if it is somehow linked.

It worked yesterday (with this firmware) but nothing today

I tried to factory reset muso too but no change.

And most importantly as it seems that some users get problems,
I’m using iOS18 (18.0.1) and macOS last updates (15.0.1)

There were several cases of device discovery problems with the new Apple OS versions, try this:

Thanks for your help.
I managed to get it back playing with options you described in Mac OS (authorization in system settings, local network unticking and restocking Roon server and Roon App, each time rebooting)
I fear it will be a temporary fix ? and it seems there is a problem with new Mac OS 15 and Roon, maybe a new update ?
Thanks again

well now another problem

peripheral (Muso 2) refuses to "comute its entry to Roon’’ and whatever I do at that time it won’t
It works (streaming Qobuz) with naim app

I also checked about firewall (seen in another topic) but firewall is disabled

I’m not sure but I haven’t seen any indications of this, so far. My best guess is still this:

But it might be happening again for you, if I interpret this correctly:

In this case, I don‘t know. I guess official support might have to check your logs

last update
when it refuses to comute (Naim Muso 2) to Roon
a reboot of my Mac shows that Muso 2 is no longer recognized in Roon App (iOS)

So it first works, then it refuses to comute, and when rebooting trying to reset makes my Muso disappear from Roon devices

I have the impression there was no noticeable problem on mac os 15.0

But since 15.0.1 it is not functioning correctly

Maybe this helps by our fabulous fellow user, @DDPS

thank you
for my situation, firewall is disabled

I’ve tried to uninstall and reinstall Roon, disconnect from network and reconnect Muso 2, still the same problem

Hi @Sebastien_Beudaert ,

When the Muso 2 doesn’t show up via Roon Ready, does it still show other available outputs for it under Roon Settings → Audio? Looking over your account diagnostics, it looks like you have another Roon Ready zone, do you have the same behavior there or is it only happening on the Muso? Are you able to bypass the switches and temporarily connect the Muso 2 directly to the main router?

Hello Norris,

When the muso doesn’t show in roon ready I have no trace of it elsewhere

But at the time being, even when it shows as a roon ready device, i get this error continuously

audio advice refused to swift input to roon

I have indeed a wattson audio emerson in my main system and it seems to work whithout any issue (tested once this evening)

I’ll try to connect my muso directly to the box tomorow morning (for me)

Thank you

Hi @Sebastien_Beudaert,
Great! We’re looking forward to your response.

Hello
I did connect directly to my internet box but it doesn’t change anything (and anyhow it is connected it works with naim app)
It works with native Naim app but I cannot listen to anything with Roon anymore.

There are four items to this equation ?

  • naim muso 2 (firmware upgraded 4.4.0 recently)
  • Mac os sequoia (15.0.1)
  • Roon app (ios 18.0.1)
  • Roon

…….my synology ?

When in previous state, never had this kind of issue.
Maybe an issue with naim last firmware ? It had been a while since last update.

By the way everything works on my emerson upstairs.
That’s why I think muso is potentially part of the equation

Until situation improves, back to naim app for streaming and minim server for streaming from NAS

I’ve sent a message to naim and also this topic to explain situation

Hello

I got an answer from naim and did a network self diagnostic

Everything seems ok

I sent it back to naim and I am waiting for an answer

Do you’ve other Roon endpoints than the Naim for testing?
With the previous (not the current) Roon release I’d the problem, that it needs upto two hours after starting until I can use it.
In this time, the audio devices in Roon are disappearing, coming back, disappearing,…

I’ve as endpoints also two Naim devices (Muso MQ 2 and Atom HE) with the current firmware and I’m sure, that hey are not the cause of your problems.

Hello
I have a Watson audio Emerson Digital which function perfectly with Roon.

I have a good news, I hope it will last but I managed to get music back to Roon with my Mu-So 2 by unplugging the power chord from the wall…for a few minutes and then plug in…
