I have the same issue with connection to Pro- Ject Stream Box s2 ultra as a bridge to ROON.
Each software update of streambox make only worse to functionality. With first update i loose Native DSD scenarion at ROON setings (only DoP setting in streambox enables ROON DSD options with some limitations). Then, with the last update of streambox to v 1.081 ROON stops recognizing streambox as a bridge at all. No responce from PRO-JECT AUDIO support. No password to ssh @volumio, as streambox uses oem of volumio software with some addons. So my personal advice to all the users of Stream Box to think twice before updating the software, as there is no possibility to return to previos version.

@Leonid_Kravchuk does this help? Open streambox settings in Project app or via a browser. Choose Playback settings tab, re-choose your attached DAC, a black line is not enough, tap it so the line becomes grey, then Save. Check Roon again if it now finds Streambox. Perhaps restart streambox then check roon again.
I’m still on 1.071 and holding horses for now.

i am allready like a voodoo runing here and there with streambox and different dacs (both SA KI RUBY, ifi idsd bl, and mytek liberty dac in my flat trying to catch the bug. Even tryed to compare log files with different versions. I also want to try with pc button, as you proposed above.

Seems I was on 1.079 on 2 different streamboxes, when pressing CHECK UPDATES it answers that I have already latest version, on both.
So I wonder how you got to 1.081 ?
Maybe they pulled it away after release?
The PC button trick does not always work. If the Streambox is set for the correct DAC as said in my previous post, the PC button might alleviate a temporal hickup.
The real pain is that when changing dac’s, the streambox software must be set manually to the new dac, in it’s settings. If not, roon won’t find it. Speaking of 1.079 and previous.
Sadly to report, neither of clicking in settings for DAC choosing did not help. Waiting new software to udate)

Isn’t that rolling back the version too?
If so, then update to 1.079 since 1.081 seems to be gone.

unfortunatly, factory reset has no sense to firmware - it stays 1.081

Sorry, I wasn’t suggesting it was fictitious. 
Just reinforcing that something odd is going on if you have downloaded it but we can’t see it.
I also have a S2 ultra - its on 1.079 released in July - the update button responds that this is the latest version and it works perfectly with Roon. When was 1.081 released?
is it firmware or system software that says 1.081 Leonid ? just want to clarify - I just looked at the log so please ignore my question.
On support when I have needed it - I am in the UK and was referred to Henly Audio who were very helpful but I think i was referred by project support in the first place
The system software of my Stream Box S2 Ultra is 1.079 from July 2022, too. And no update available - but if there will be one, I will stay here.

Update here. The Roon Partners team has involved Pro-Ject directly and will provide any information we need from the Roon side.
By all indications, it’s a fix Pro-Ject will need to implement in their own firmware, as Roon’s interaction with this device has not changed with our most recent release. We will update you as we receive updates from their team.

I see that Leonid - this is very strange - project must have made that release and pulled it and you were just unlucky to download while it was out there - between Roon and project we will find out. I just hope there is a way to rollback for you. Best - Ciaran

Off topic but I’ve found it useful to bypass volume messing by Stream Box S2 ultra for the sake of sound quality.
Settings, playback options, volume options, set mixer type to NONE.
