Qobuz login fails with network error message (ref#UQKSBH)

What’s happening?

· I'm having trouble logging in

Where are you having trouble logging in?

· I can't log into TIDAL / Qobuz / KKBox

Describe the issue

Qobus Login always fails with error: Netzwerkfehler: Bitte prüfe deine Verbindung

Describe your network setup

ROUTER AVM FritzBOX 7490; No VPN! Private nrtwork via WLAN

Hi @Ralf_G,

Assuming these same credentials work in the Qobuz account page in a browser outside of Roon, then try the following:

  1. Log into Qobuz in a web browser. Fully log out of your account there.
  2. Restart RoonServer
  3. Verify that the Fritz!box router has a reliable DNS server assigned:
  • Click “Internet” in the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  • Click “Account Information” in the “Internet” menu.
  • Click on the “DNS Server” tab.
  • Enable the option “Use other DNSv4 servers”
  • Assign Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) as the DNS server

From there, open RoonServer and sign back in under Settings → Services to Qobuz.

Please let us know if this helps. Is this RoonServer machine hardwired directly to the router via ethernet?

Hi Connor,

i just tried the alternative configuration for the DNS server
but it doesn’t fix the problem. The error is still the same
Could you help.

BR R.G.

addition: Qobuz login via web-Browser in the same network is always successful

Hi @Ralf_G,

Thanks for the additional information!

With your server running on a Mac, are you able to double-check the firewall settings on the machine? If you temporarily disable your mac firewall, are you able to login?

I noticed that you’re currently using the legacy version of Roon. I wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, our ability to support this version is limited, as development for it has ended. This means we are no longer able to provide software updates or bug fixes. However, we’re still here to help with any questions or issues you might have!

You’ve to use for the login in Roon not the user name, but the email address.

Firewall disabled. No login possible . the same error message. I have tried with my user and with email adress but no success. Do you have a further approach?

Hey @Ralf_G,

Do you have a full streaming account with Qobuz, not a free account?

There seems to be a handshake issue when you attempt to login:

Warn: [qobuz] [http] error result from http request: System.Net.WebException: Error: SecureChannelFailure (Authentication failed, see inner exception.) ---> System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: Authentication failed, see inner exception. ---> Mono.Security.Interface.TlsException: Unknown Secure Transport error `PeerHandshakeFail'.

Do you have any other antivirus or third-party security software on the mac you’d be able to review further? Or, do you have a different Roon remote you could attempt to use to log in with Qobuz?

Hi Benjamin,
your questions:
-1- I have a full qobuz account
-2- I have avast anti virus on my mac. For the tests I had disabled the functions.
-3- I have tried with Roon Remote 1.8 (legacy) via Iphone and Ipad
→ even the same Error: Netzwerkfehler: Bitte prüfe deine Verbindung
It doesn’t seem to matter which device.

Hi @Ralf_G ,

Does the below article by any chance help?

Hi Noris,
that doesn’t apply. I created the account directly in Qobuz.
By the way, logging into tidal works without any problems.

Here is an excerpt from yesterday’s log:

I hope this helps with the analysis

In your first screenshot you entered a username:

However, when logging into third party apps, Qobuz has required the account’s email address for considerable time. Try entering this address.

It would be good if Roon’s documentation mentioned this. I can’t find it in the docs but it has been announced officially on the forum.

The login window should not be labeled „user name“ either because this is wrong, and it should verify whether an email address was entered. @noris please have this fixed, it has been years. [EDIT: Not sure if this is only the case in 1.8 and already fixed in 2.0. Disregard if it’s fixed  ]

I also tried logging in with my email address. the same error occurs

OK, then there’s an additional problem, but in any case the email address will be necessary even if everything else is fine.

What’s your Roon version? I notice references to mono in your log screenshot and mono shouldn’t be used anymore by Roon. It’s perfectly possible that they didn’t update the log messages accordingly, but worth checking, I thought.

Is use ROON Version 1.8 on my MAC ( OSX Version 10.11.6 ).
ROON Core is running on my Mac Mini ( OSX Version 10.10.5 ).

I cannot update to a higher ROON version because I cannot patch my MAC systems regularly because the computers are too old.

but until recently
The qobuz login was also possible with ROON 1.8.

I see. 1.8 is surely expected to still work with Qobuz, but are you sure that your Roon 1.8 is the latest update for 1.8? I’m asking because Roon removed Mono with 1.8 Build 846:

and the latest update for 1.8 was 1151:

Like I said, the mono stuff may just be logging text that they didn’t update and might mean nothing, but I’m just trying to cover all bases and making sure the issue isn’t caused by any easy stuff.

I have ROON Version 1.8 (build 1151)production1x

Doesn’t the error message from the log indicate an SSL certificate problem or SSL TSL version problem?

Possibly, I wondered, too, but then one would think it would affect more people. Something for Roon support to clarify.
