Roon ARC on iPhone 15 not working after build 1353

Yesterday, I was asked to sync my iPhone 15 to my core for the first time after build 1353 update

I am trying from home and have tried both using my wifi and 5G

It has been working fine until this build though in the past I mostly listened from outside

I let it run for 24 hours while it was spinning before re-booting the iPhone and my nucleus + so I am not sure that it synced though I am no longer asked to do so

Today, I cannot access ARC on iPhone 15

In my Settings I see that the core is READY

On the iphone, i can log in and the Core is shown as online with a green dot

But when I hit nucleus + I can’t get beyond that screen

And when I try again on the iPhone it says the core was last seen a minute ago, then it does the same [after a millisecond flicker to orange].

You should put this in @support but you already have yesterday’s thread there

have done so now; thanks

Is there a way to test whether the phone actually synced with the core or not?

It should reflect the most recent plays.

I used ARC for the first time since 1353 (on iPhone 13) yesterday and saw similar behaviour.
I had to log in again and then I experienced what you described - except I’m running Server on Windows 11.

I could not get past that screen either. I hit the back button and logged in again - same result, also displaying that my Core was last seen about a minute ago.

On my third or fourth try I was able to access ARC and after it synced all my downloaded music was gone as were my previous settings.

I know the previously downloaded music had been there because just before using ARC I’d checked my iPhone storage and ARC was using about 40Gigs. After logging in again and seeing no downloads I checked iPhone storage and ARC use was down to about 600MB.

UPDATE

I deleted the ARC app and re-installed it and was able to log in and connect to the core.

I was then told that I had to sync the iPhone to my core for first time use.

I tried this three times – twice on wifi and once on 5F and each time it failed with the message that something went wrong.

Hopefully someone can take a look at my logs.

Wow. Sounds like we have a problem!

OP, were you able to make it work? I am trying to figure out if ARC is worth another try.

Still have not been able to get it to sync to my Nucleus +

I’d wait a few days until the upcoming update (maybe next week) which contains a bunch of improvements that may have an effect. (Or may not, but in any case probably better to invest any time after the update and not before)

Update: Tried again after today’s update; started by deleting app and installing it again; sync began but after about 30 minutes it crashed with message that something was wrong

As this update was an emergency update that didn’t include ARC updates after all, not sure if maybe the important bits for this issue may not have made it into the update

Quite likely; thanks. I was hoping support would get back to me and check my logs but does not seem to have happened

They did remark on a similar startup issue in EA, so it may be on the radar:

Yes I got a couple of times before re-installing the app

Trying now to sync via iPad. Who knows?!

I guess this makes you lucky - in a way

Heh. Fortunately I have Qobuz on my phone and an excellent DAP with 1 TB of hi-res/DSD files on it so I’m not miserable or even that frustrated by this. Also, so far my iPad sync seems to be working [touch wood]!

Is the ARC sync scanning the data base or the entire library track by track ?

You may recall I had it going for 24 hours on my iPhone and then disconnected

The database I would guess, but it’s a guess. With 50K tracks my first syncs took about a minute or two, so can’t imagine that it rescans everything
