It’s a completely new function. From what I understood from past discussions they recommend having it enabled/scheduled for a time range not listening. So, you shouldn’t turn the server off for at least a few days.
How many tracks do you have? Local or also streaming?
26,021 tracks. Seldom listen to streaming, but have Tidal. The freezes have not been observed to occur on Tidal albums. So you are saying no reboots and see what happens?
You may do a reboot after enabling the schedule. But leave the server turned on for a few days to let the job do its work. Don’t try to play tracks too soon. And do not disable the schedule during tests.
I didn’t turn it on.. it was on. I don’t know how log it has been on. so I’m not sure what we are doing here… I play tracks every day. Am I supposed to stop?
It always works after a re-boot. And I want to emphasize again I have never had a dropout. But when I click on an album page, the page freezes for 30-40 seconds before it appears… I have sent videos previously of this happening… anyway, have turned these things off… and will see what happens. As I am doing a reboot, I expect it will take 1-2 days to see a failure.
What else am I supposed to try? I turned off those settings. The issue remains. (As I suspected it would). Some weeks ago I fired up my Bluesound server with 2,000 albums on it. Wokred fine with other Bluesound devices on my network. Also have tried Roon without the Eversolo on the network. None of these things work. Again, this problem started over a year ago with a Roon update. It worked perfectly before that.
1:44 PM MST.. first use of the day. First album loaded, no issues. Second album took 1:50 (!) to load. Vaughan Williams choral pieces. Really not acceptable.
Have tried experimenting over several days… any day I reboot the server everything works fine. On days when I don’t I get a hang. Today, for example, I loaded 3 Cds, but CD 4 called ‘Passio’ hung for 30 seconds and then finally loaded. I think we are beyond coincidence about the server being the issue.
Thanks for all your updates, and I’m sorry you’re still having issues!
At this point, I believe the work our development team is wrapping up should very much help you with your performance issues.
If you’re interested in receiving these updates as soon as possible, we can let you know when the updates have been pushed to our Early Access version of Roon. Or, if you’d rather wait until the updates are pushed to the full Production version of Roon, that is understandable as well.
