Description Of Issue
Tried to import newly ripped m4a (Apple Lossless) files. Roon on my Mac kept crashing. So I restarted Roon Core running on Roon Rock to see if that would help and now it keeps crashing at startup. I click “Start” in the web page and it runs for five seconds and then stops. I’ve tried rebooting several times. No errors are displayed.

Is there any change in behavior if your Reinstall the ROCK Operating System via the Web UI ?

@Nick - No, reinstalling the ROCK OS via the WebUI should keep your database intact, but I can’t say for sure if it will resolve this issue, so it’s a try it and see kind of process.
However, do you have regular Roon Backups of your database in case we need to do more advanced troubleshooting?

@noris The reinstall keeps failing. It says to check the internet connection, but the connection seems to be fine.

Hi @Nick ,
Do you have any firewalls on your router? Is the ROCK connected directly to the router or is it going through a switch/range extender/powerline adapter?

@noris I got the update to work and it seems to have solved the problem. I got it to update by powering it down and unplugging it. After that, the update took. Thanks for your help.

It also seems to have solved the file import issue. Importing my Apple Lossless rips is no longer crashing.
