Hi @Omar_Martinez,
Thank you for your message. I tried to activate diagnostics on your system but it was unable to complete. Can you please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader? Once logs have been uploaded, please let us know so that we can check the server for your files, thanks!

Hi Daniel,
I have just uploaded the logs
Thanks & Regards,
Omar

Hi Mr. Flibble,
I am following the recommended thread, but at the moment unsuccessfully
I will do again, step by step
Thanks & Regards,
Omar

Hi @Omar_Martinez,

Thank you for uploading the log files. I realize we weren’t as clear as we should have been. What we need are the RoonServer_log files, but it looks like the ones you uploaded were the Roon_log files. I’m sorry for the confusion.

I also saw you mentioned having trouble following the thread that @Mr.Flibble shared. If there’s anything I can help clarify, just let me know. I’m here to help.

Hi Daniel,
I have uploaded the “RoonServer_log” files, please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks again for your help!

Hey @Omar_Martinez,

Thanks for sending those over! Let’s see if refreshing your Roon Server database helps - make sure you have a recent backup available.

  • Stop RoonServer from running in ROCK’s WebUI
  • Navigate to your ROCK’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Restart the RoonServer in the WebUI to generate a new Roon database folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

Hi Daniel,
Sure, I am doing something wrong. The Roon Server is “Not Running”. I think the problem has started there, since the issue started, I could not start the Server…saying that, even with the Server not running, I cannot rename the “Roon Server” file, because it said it is in use…

Ofer to connect to a “Roon Server” in the PC…not in the NUC…then I tried to uninstall Roon App in the PC but could not… is asking “Please quit all instance of Roon Server before continuing…” I have restated the PC, with the NUC off, and the same… again, sure I am missing something…

Hi @Omar_Martinez,

Roon Server may have been set to start on start up so that as soon as you turn on the PC Roon Server starts as well. This is easy to fix on Windows fortunately. With Roon running on your PC click on the up arrow in the taskbar in the right corner of the screen.

Right click on the Roon icon and you will see an option that says “Launch on startup”. Make sure that option is unchecked. You can also quit Roon Server from that same menu which would also allow you to uninstall it. Let us know how this goes and if you need any further help!

Hi Daniel,
After following all the steps, I’ve starting thinking my SSD could have some problem…I’ve changed and reinstalled rock…everything was smooth until the installation of the ffmpeg file
I can not find Rock in the Explorer, I’ve tried with 2 PCs, and followed all the recommendation in the roon help…but still can not access to it

What happens when you enter \\rock\ in the Address field (not the Search field) of Windows File Explorer?

Hi Geoff,
I am attaching the screenshot of the error I am getting
Thanks for the suppor!

Hi @Omar_Martinez,

Thanks for following up. Windows includes a built-in Check Disk utility that you can use to check the health of your SSD. Before removing the drive, please make sure that Roon is fully shut down on the machine the SSD is currently connected to — this helps avoid any risk of file corruption.

Once Roon is closed, you can safely disconnect the SSD and attach it to a Windows computer. After it’s connected, follow the steps in this article to run the disk check.

If you have any questions during the process or need help interpreting the results, feel free to let us know.

Hi Daniel,
I have replaced the SSD and reinstalled Roon. I’ve reached the point where it shows “Missing Codecs,” but now I’m stuck. The ROCK folder does not appear in my PC’s File Explorer > Network. I’ve tried on two different PCs, checked the firewall, antivirus, router, etc., but nothing works

What you are experiencing may be being caused by Microsoft’s recent changes to network security. Please review the changes to Windows that you may need to do in this article:

Hi @Omar_Martinez ,

Please let us know if you’re able to access the Codecs folder after following @Geoff_Coupe link, as it is most likely the issue, thanks!

Hi Noris,
No, I am still not able to access, I have already “Enable insecure guest logons” a week ago following the community links… Strange, I can access the web and see the “Roon Server Software” Missing Codecs message but cannot Mapping as a Network Drive or find it in Explore…and I have tried in 2 PCs, same problem…

Did you try typing in \\rock\ in the Address field (not the Search field) of Windows File Explorer as I suggested earlier? What happens when you do this? Please post any error messages that you get. Thank you.
