Roon won't play certain tracks from Qobuz, gets stuck on progress bar (ref#K9XYO0) [Ticket in]

Same issues here. On a connection that has been stable for years.

Hi that explains it then. On this album it plays fine on Qobuz and Volume when it goes from Track 2 to 3 but it’s a no go on Roon….v frustrating..

Describe the issue

For no apparent reason, some tracks won't play. If I skip to the next track, that one plays, and if I skip back, the track that wouldn't play sometimes starts playing too. But that doesn't always work.

Describe your network setup

It's direct connect to the Internet via glass fiber sincs several years

Qobuz tracks?

It is a Qobuz issue, it’s not caused by your connection. See the official post linked above

BTW, I don’t think this problem is entirely related to qobuz. I have both tidal and qobuz. I disabled qobuz and reset my network and rebooted my nuc. I’m now streaming a “daily mix”, so now only from tidal and from the ssd inside of the nuc. When the playlist switches from a tidal track (seems to only be from a hi res track) to a track on my ssd inside (all cd resolution flac), Roon gets stuck in the same exact way as qobuz was getting stuck. The track will not advance from the end of the tidal track to the beginning of the track on the internal drive unless I hit skip. I made this comment earlier and was dismissed by another user (not a Roon engineer) so please don’t tell me I have a different problem. They have to be related. This never happened before.

Hanging every several songs for me.

Been going on all week.

Login bounce did NOT fix it for me.

It’s possible that Roon is only trying to solve a qobuz problem (which seems to be happening across multiple platforms by the way) when there is also a Roon problem. Does ANYBODY out there with only Tidal and ripped CBs have a similar issue? If not, will logging out of qobuz instead of just disabling it solve the problem?

Thank you. I have passed this on to others.

I did notice that after an hour or so being stuck with the progress bar going back and forth it sudenly started to play. The same problem does not happen when playing from the Web interface. Cheers.

… and Roon radio running after the Daily Mix playlist is finished will not automatically move from hi res tracks to 44khz tracks within Tidal without hitting skip.

Nice to know I wasn’t crazy. I greatly appreciate the help from people like yourself to solve issues that are perplexing but alas, sometimes the software itself is just a mess.

further to my comment above ….The new update to 2.64(build 1646) now lets my Earth Wind and Fire I AM album from Qobuz play. On some tracks it has very small slight track change issue still where Roon flashes “Playback was interupted because a track failed to load” but the track quickly plays anyway. Hopefully Qobuz fixes there end issues soon for everyone.

I have not yet had a chance to test whether this is true or not but this is their response when I requested a credit for the month.

Great job with the latest update!
Thanks.

There is a thread in the Antipodes support forums about this from Mid-March. Since the error message say “waiting for server” I also did a check to see if it was an Antipodes issue and it obviously is not.

This has nothing to do with the issue in this thread.

I have had same problem for the last few days. I tried deleting the album from the roon library and re-adding it from qobuz and still the same thing happens. Happy if you want me to get some diagnostics.

Well, the update didn’t seem to fix at least one of my issues.

It used to be that on Jack Johnson’s “In Between Dreams”, the third track ‘Banana Pancakes’ would not play. All other album tracks would play fine. The Qobuz-based album was in FLAC 96/24

After applying the Roon updates and rebooting my Roon server, now when I go to play that album, play skips past the first two tracks and begins playing ‘Banana Pancakes.’

Be careful what you wish for, I guess.

I was so flabbergasted that I haven’t yet tried the rest of the album. More to come, I’m sure.

I am going to go back to Tidal….my Qobuz annual subscription is about to expire at the end of May. Does adding Tidal and logging out of Qobuz keep the albums I added in Roon while I had Qobuz only?
