This little guy.
That morse key was my Grandfather’s - he was a radio operator in the Air Force in WW2.
Reminds me of the TV series, the theme tune has M.O.R.S.E. coded as it’s theme
Those stairs are very special I have to agree with you, even more as I used my head and hands to design and build them
Don’t you hit your head when you play guitar?
If he is a headbanger definitely
Hi Mesmo,
I appreciate you want to hide your wifi box, but you’ll improve your reception if you get it up high. Low to the floor and behind a tv isn’t doing much for your connection speed. It’s a pain, I know, as most wifi boxes aren’t the prettiest, but if you can move it up high you should see an overall improvement.
Nice Meridian gear, btw.
but isn’t the morse code tapper 0 and 1 any way , long - short - very digital. Well before analogue
Updated my “clock radio” bedroom endpoint.
Replaced a RPi 3 running RoPieee, Pro-Ject Pre Box S2 Digital and SMSL SE-98 amp with an NAD CS1 streamer and a Topping PA7 Plus power amp to drive my Dali Opticon 8 (MK 1) speakers.
My humble setup
Roon core is tucked away inside cabinet, streaming from h390 running dac loop to denafrips Pontus 2 12 anniversary.
The vinyl gets a vote as well
My setup:
WiFi router Redmi Ax6 + iFi Power2 → LAN cat8 → switch Bonn N8 + LPS → LAN → Roon Rock + LPS.
WiFi router Felix audio incl. LPS → LAN → R26 Gustard → XLR → Hegel H390 → speaker cable HiD8 → MA Gold 100 + Sub REL t7i.
Everything is connected to the power distributor Powergrip YG-3.
Thanks. Restarted my audiophile hobby because of turntable. Used to dabble with In Car Audio.
Still have a lot to learn on analogue. I think my digital is complete “for now”.
@Bee_Hive I’ve always been into vinyl , nice that it reactivated your interest in music too.
Check out the music forum section if you want to check out what might interest you that we are playing and us with what you are playing.
Nice setup however I see quite a bit of vinyl in the pictures but no turntable. Any plans to rectify that situation?
In the other corner of the room there is my Dj station - Two Technics 1210 Mk2 and Pioneer DJM-450.
This mixer 450 is digital - so the vinyl sound degrades when converted.
I rarely use or listen to vinyl, even sold half of the collection.
I also use digital music for djing.
How is the NAD CS1? Are you using analogue out to amp or digital out to DAC?
Edit: One more question - can the CS1 output variable volume, and can the volume be controlled from Roon?
I’m using analog out to the amp. I only use volume control via Roon. On the amp, volume control is bypassed. Im very happy with SQ. The NAD CS1 supports Tidal connect etcetera. You can download the manual from the NAD website to find out all the details.
Nothing humble about it if you have a H390 .
