Operation KEF LS60 Wireless completed:
The KEFs are on IsoAcoustics Gaia now, that work wonders with my suspended flooring. Very happy with the sound: ample, deep and nicely dry bass, rich and full mids, sparkling yet silky smooth highs. Compared to my previous LS50 WII / KC62 setup, there’s just more of everything: it all sounds richer and larger, especially so in the lower mids. The end result is just more well eh… musical and effortless, whatever I throw at them. I’ve dabbled with the KC62 for a bit, but found no real need for a sub anymore.
Since they’re on the same (W2) streaming platform as my previous setup, making all my Roon and Spotify automations and integrations work again was a simple find and replace of the speakers’ hostname in my scripts. (My current favourite is a little Flic 2 button that starts shuffling a 9000 track baroque playlist from Spotify at a gentle volume in the mornings, conveniently located next to the coffee machine :-)). All of that – and of course all of @DrCWO’s rooExtend gizmos are up & running as well.
Mission accomplished, I’d say – for the year (or a few more, as I had to promise my loving wife. ;-)).
