Gorgeous speakers!
In our house we prefer a muffled left speaker to a wrong right speaker ![]()
But a right speaker cant be wrong - because if it is wrong it is not right ![]()
The next time the religious sales people come to my door, I can use that as an excuse why I’m an atheist.

Updated my subwoofer a while ago for a REL 7/x. Fantastic experience for the music I listen. Updated my nuc i5 13th gen ROCK with an Akasa Maxwell AC case. Keeps totally cool and silent
. Just enjoying and listening ![]()
The Mini ITX desktop that powers HQplayer embedded, keeps cool and silent with Noctua Noctua NH-U12S cpu fan. The GPU brand is MSI 4070 Super. Keeps also cool and fans are also very quiet.
(Forgot to turn on the Accuphase for the photo ![]()

I haven’t taken the step yet, but my Maxwell case is sitting there, waiting for attention!
Any suggestions you’d like to share, regarding the migration of the NUC13Pro board?
I sure do hope that it’s not the NUC temp you are displaying above? 77° C is NOT an acceptable temp for long time service imo.
Finished the dedicated home theatre/man cave room in Mar of this year. Room colors are optimized for viewing a TV on the black front wall in complete darkness. Someday an 83" OLED will be in the budget. I have a few more LPs to frame and hang.

Hi!
That 77 is my Mini ITX Sugo i914000 crushing some heavy HQplayer filters. On low load is 60-55C.
Yes for the Maxwells case, the case itself It feels very cool all the time, note I’m not doing any DSP filtering, for this purpose I use HQplayer on my Mimi ITX. I used default BIOS settings on regards temperature.

So I booted using Ubuntu USB drive tests to get the Akasa Maxwell AC 13th gen i5 cpu temperature and here is the screenshot:
Tips.
While taking out the motherboard from the nuc, is important to pull out the case, just kindly pull forward the opposite side to allow space for the motherboard to move out.
Have the cpu heat sink screws ready, so when you apply the paste and stickers on motherboard you will need to flip the case while holding the motherboard fixed to screw it back.
Also have alcohol pads and a plastic tiny spatula (the ones from thermal paste), to clean CPU previous paste before applying new one.
The screws of the M2 sdd cards heat sink need to be tightened on same order, if you mix them, they won’t fit.
The power cable that connects to the motherboard is plugged one row down.
You will put it where one pin is missing on the left side.
The case has some thermal paste already on the copper pipes, so you might get some on your fingers if not careful.
The edges of the case are a bit sharp, handle carefully.
Don’t forget to plug the small battery cable back into the motherboard.
Enjoy
to me this should be a very very nice sounding room, I like a little of echo.
Many thanks ! Some little reflections, I do have my speakers away from the wall on a recommended ratio from the listening
area.
Edit:
I also updated the isoaccustics to aperta to help me improve overall performance, and finally able to point my speakers tweeter to my ear

@macrog Andrew. Two very different setups. Do you prefer one over the other? What are the differences?
Both systems are great and pretty much on a par.
The Kii Bxts have the best Bass I have ever heard. Tight, fast and detailed.
The ATCs dont go quite as low in the bass but are probably slightly more detailed elsewhere in the frequency range. Both sytems do things I would struggle to be without.
My wife prefers the Kii BXTs as they arent as imposing in the room.
I spend pretty equal time on each system.
I do like the smaller Box count on the Kii system. I am hopping the ATC will launch a C6Mk2 Subwoofer soon. A pair them them would I think even up the bass. The Mk2 upgrade of the C4 subwoofer added high pass filters and improved the bass response.
I would struggle to move back from active systems.

Andrew
I have to agree on the actives allure. I have ATC 19As + 2 REL subs + LINN Selekt Hub Edition (will post pics soon)…was looking at GRIMM MU2 before as an option…went with LINN for the hdmi eArc input. I like these Streamer/DAC/Preamp all in ones to reduce box count. For ethernet tweaks…I went with Etherregen+Afterdark reclocker and Silent Angel ethernet switch.
How did the Silent Angel compare to the Etherregen in sound quality?
I have both. I have the Silent Angel N16 LPS (now discontinued in favor of their NX model I believe) >>> the EtherRegen + Afterdark clock >>> LINN Selekt DAC/Streamer/Preamp. I tried removing the EtherRegen+Clock but like the sound more when it was in the chain. Can’t afford your Reference clock
I think it’s due to the Clock. I’ll probably update the Silent Angel to the Bonn NX + Genesis GX Work Clock models before I can remove the EtherRegen+Clock. Interestingly, a trial or your Mutec Word Clock with their matching USB reclocker is what made me get into this area of tweaking…but the price took me to Afterdark options.
