Thanks for that information, looking at them I would have expected more, I guess you would have to try them in your environment and see how well they worked.
Bass-ic stuff ![]()
You need large things to somehow ‘tame’ bass
Looks like you’ll be looking for a new property ![]()
And for now the room is ready. Comfy chair installed and added absorption panels on the front and rear walls to tame the high tones slightly. I have to apply some mild DSP between 200Hz and 400Hz as the finishing touch. It sounds awesome. Very happy with the end result.
+1 to the nod to Totem. ![]()
I still have Rainmakers on my main system that I can never part with.
Today the MICHI M8 monoblocks, the MICHI P5 series 2 preamp and the HifiRose RS130 transport streamer will be delivered for my new Monitor audio Hyphns. ![]()
Then asap starting with room treatment, just downloaded REW but any HOW TO suggestions are (more than) welcome.
Never done this before so…someone knew a specialised company (in the Netherlands) or DIY? Furniture, beamer etc. all will be removed with the exception of one listening chair.
106Kg each downstairs
Nice room treatment, suggestions on how to or where to are always welcome ![]()
But there is also this program, Focus Fidelity, that might be easier to use.
I use convolution files made by Home Audio Fidelity, with which I am very happy.
That room really does need a lot of treatment ![]()
nice setup ![]()
I try REW and HouseCurve (Ipad) with UMIK-1
For me booth produce notable improvements.
Houscurve produce faster results but REW allows you to fine tune much much better.
My recomentation woud be to start with houscurve to have quick results and than after some time of lissening start with REW (there are many good howto on YT) This is with good explanation.
Please tell us how it went, looks really intresting.
I also strongly recommend Thierry at homeaudiofidelity.com and suggest that you check out his XTC crosstalk cancellation filters. Works wonders for me.
Hahaha…these are Vincent&Lola from the (very rare) Various speakers. Discontinued.
I will, probably around Christmas… ![]()
This PSI Audio (AVAA C214) may help...
THNX for the tip…!!!
AVAAs are the real deal. Unfortunately, 4x AVAA C20 didn’t work in my living room as my speakers were actually coupling to, and exciting, the stud walls.
Okay, they helped a bit, but I found that preventing the excitation in the first place (using Meridian Room Correction notch filters which I transcribed into Roon) was a much more effective approach. In a room with more solid walls, I have no doubts that they would have worked brilliantly.
I think vs the far side of US$10k, I’d have used a free filter too ![]()
Thank you! I’m far from an expert concerning room treatments. I learned the basics and that is placing bass traps in the front corners & rear corner, treatment on the front and back walls to manage flutter echo and the 1st and 2nd reflections on the left and right side walls. I placed a tv on the front wall and the system still sounds great, but I’m confident it would sound better if I replaced the tv with some treatments. My original pics on this post did not include the tv on the wall because I just got it not too long ago.
