What’s the difference between these 2 music threads?

It’s not immediately obvious to me.

One is a place where you quietly post what you are listening to and move on (What are we listening to 2022-12)

The other thread is a place where we post what we are listening to and then have endless discussions around music or whatever else.
You can’t have those discussions in the What are you listening to thread as they get moved out

We are giving this thread title a try out, this was a suggestion from John and I have to say it sums the thread up quite nicely.

Let’s talk about what’s moving and grooving you today?

I’ll have to go read through that thread… based on the title I thought it was just a place to post what Bootsy Collins tracks you were all listening to.
(moving and grooving I thought meant funk!)

I misunderstood the Moving and Grooving thread. I thought it was for music that got you up on your feet and moving.

You can dance if you want to…

Generally most of us stand on the sidelines and watch the dancing and prefer the cit chat

If not physically dancing, dancing on the inside is good as well.:+1:

Works for me, and it’s probably where I do most of my dancing

Great new avatar :+1:t2:

I have to say that I liked the What are you listening to thread a lot a while back. But for some time now it is just moving too fast imho. If I miss a week there are more than a thousand posts and I don’t feel like wading through it. Too much. I’d like if anyone just posted 2-3 per day or so. I absolutely love the diversity of the music btw. Ok for metal I don’t try it but only look at the cover art :drop_of_blood: :japanese_ogre: haha

It’s about 1400–1500 per month, but yes, it’s moving rather fast.

I am with you on that. In the past I have been guilty of posting too much, but have tried hard to reduce my posts to a reasonable count.

+1… absolutely so… I am sorry about some of the musical knowledge and recommendations being relegated (or promoted) to ‘specialist’ threads, and when being asked to initiate a specialist thread for ‘classical’ music have politely declined to do so.

I’m with you on this one. But not many agree with us!

Sometimes I get so caught up in the flow that I post way too many albums. I will try to practice “less is more”. Good point here!
I also find myself not being able to evaluate some threads for a day or two because of the sheer mass of posts.

At first read I thought you were quoting a song. :joy:

… or maybe you were…
