Yes, Roon 1.8 works under Win 7 and Windows Server 2016 seems to be equivalent to Windows 10 (but is not officially listed as supported so YMMV).
Why.
Isn’t that a desktop distribution (with GUI)? If so, why not try to use that instead of wasting money on Windows if you just need to send this file(s)? If it works, it works the same as (a true) Windows Roon remote.
Any chance we can have Roon control in Linux anytime soon?
I have roon server on a linux computer (works flawless) working togheter with Hqplayer (nothing left to be desired)…
Remote control on my older Ipad is not possible…so I have to use my android phone (not very practical) or a windows tablet and a windows laptop running windows 10…
Only for the remote I have windows 10…would prefer to do this on a Linux machine…
I would appreciate your effort on this…

env WINEPREFIX=/home/alan/WinRoon WINEARCH=win32 wine wineboot
Set the Window version to Win7
env WINEPREFIX=/home/alan/WinRoon winecfg

I’ve wanted a full Roon UI on Linux since I first took out a subscription.
My core runs on a Linux box that handles audio and video requirements and sits with my hifi system. I usually control it via my laptop. Over the last year or so I’ve had to use Windows 10 to get Roon functionality or use an Android tablet. I would normally use Linux on my laptop so I’ve never been really happy with this.
Earlier this week I found this thread: Ubuntu 17.10 64bit RoonServer with Roon on WINE I followed t…
