I am NOT, however, having this problem so Iām just chiming in that may NOT be the cause (or not the sole cause, or not a problem in my particular setup).
I see. There may be other factors. I donāt have the problem with ROCK either, by the way, so if it affects only/mostly Roon OS, then not always. I am not over the 100+ limit anywhere, though
Wow, your situation sounds very similar to mine: Windows 11, lots of large albums (Classical box sets) and artists with very large catalogs (Grateful Dead), and the observed slowness of my system occurs when clicking links, not search. Did you send in your ticket by starting another thread? If so do you have a link? Iād like to follow that.
Something really weird is going on with my library. I can filter for albums with over 100 tracks and found about 8 of them. But when I go to delete them they kept coming back. Most of these were complete box sets on Qobuz, so have no real reason to have them favorited. So possible something with my library is causing search to have issues. Hopefully this all gets sorted out.
Yep. Classical box sets, Grateful Dead, and a whole lot of live Tangerine Dream etc.
My last post in the thread says itās only been happening a few times in the last month but lately itās multiple times a day.
Regularly restarting Roon definitely helps.
This, yes!
This situation is absurd. The software stopped working (i.e. album info load hangs) when they split the core from the client. I just want to listen to music. That worked perfectly for me for two years. Why doesnāt Roon just back off to the version before they broke it? Take as much time as you need to figure out how you broke great software and let me listen to music in peace.
Unusable software is theft.
Day two of no issues with search and a high core processing. Also after Benjamin sent an update under the support category no disconnects from server. Iām one very happy guy.
Curious - how did you filter for albums with more than 100 tracks? Iām sure I have some, would like to find out how many.
I have several artists with over 1000 tracks, including one with 13,000 tracks (mainly live concert archives), who has cross-links to two primary artists (āBruce Springsteenā, and āThe E Street Bandā, since Roon considers them to be two distinct artists for some reason) . I believe that this is one of the factors contributing to my abysmal search performance.
In my case, my search performance wows began with the advent of Roon 2.0ā¦
I have 6 albums with 100+ tracks (Dylan basement tapes, White Album Super Deluxe, and stuff like that) and no issues. So this on its own doesnāt seem sufficient. (But I have only 44K tracks overall)
Thanks! I have 31 albums with 100+ tracks. All but three are local files. One has >300.
BUILD 1359 online
Happy new testing
If this is what Iāve been testing in early release, this does nothing for slow search or any other issues with performance.
The release notes donāt mention that it should anyway.
Funny, I have exactly 31 albums with over 100 tracks as well, though most are Qobuz.
I am a bit bummed that slowness doesnāt seem to be addressed with this update. There must be more people using ARC then I realized. Or itās part of why they were bought. Thereās a mobility play somewhere in the logic behind buying Roon. Of the eight people I know who use Roon regularly, none of us use ARC regularly. We donāt have long commutes, and when we travel we are often with co-workers or family and arenāt spending much if any time listening to ARC.
Le sigh. If this doesnāt get better before Summer, I may have to move on. The experience has gone backwards and frankly it has become annoying.
Agree 100%.
I would guess these are completely separate teams and what the ARC app team does has no impact on the server performance nor could they help with that
This ARC update was in the early release about a month ago. Normally they release updates to production 2 weeks later. This got delayed because they released the other one that was actually supposed to help this problem. Not sure if that update helped anyone. So now that their staff is back to 100% I guess figured time to release the ARC update. We have not gotten another early release yet, so many this next one will have another attempted fix?
But since this issue came up, I now have issue where when I delete an album from Qobuz it ends up back in my library. I have attempted to delete the few albums with over 100 tracks and they keep coming back. I also deleted dozens of duplicated albums and still see many dups. I almost feel I have to completely start fresh again. But Iād rather just wait for a fix. Also gave daily mixes a try and those are terrible. Mixed Nirvana with Led Zepplin. So much worse than what Spotify does. Ready to just give up on room soon.
