Description of Issue

Since 1 week I can not launch the app. Once the App launched, when I tried to select a track the app crashed. I restarted all the systems (internet, Roon nucleus, Apple express) nothing changes.

I downloaded the app from your Website again and nothing changed.

I have tried restarting my Nucleus, this I have made no change.

What should I do?

Recently there were several cases where the Core got stuck on an older version and then current remote versions started to crash immediately. Probably worth going to the web admin interface of the Nucleus in a browser and verify that the RoonServer version is up to date. The correct current versions are:

Application Version
Roon / RoonServer 2.0 (build 1211) production
Roon ARC 1.0 (build 145) production
Roon Remote (Android / iOS) 2.0 (build 1211) production

You can find more details in these threads.

I still have this issue…

Since now 2 weeks I can not launch the app. Once the App launched, when I tried to select a track the app crashed. I restarted all the systems (internet, Roon nucleus, Apple express) nothing changes.

I downloaded the app from your Website again and nothing changed. The recommendations from support are not changing nothing at all…

Did you try this from the other thread you opened? It was marked as solved. Did you not click the “Solution” checkbox?

I’ve reopened the “solved” topic and merged the new one into it

Your Roon Server version is not up to date and this is most likely the problem:

You have the outdated build 1148 and like I said:

@Wes can you please help @Amay_Villazan out and update their Nucleus remotely?

@Amay_Villazan,

Clicking on the Reinstall RoonOS icon should sort this out.

If that fails, then I’m out of ideas and it will need help from Roon.

Thank you
I understood but

Eek. The internet connection is OK and the Nucleus plugged in I assume?

Edit: Well I suppose it is or you wouldn’t be able to get to the web admin page in the first place. I think we are now at the point were we really need @support

Hi Amay,
Can you please share more about your internet connection:
Is there a modem? What is the routing device?
“Apple Express Roon” does this mean an Apple AirPort Express?
Which device is the nucleus connected to? To a Deco or to the router?
Thank you.

Hi Axel, thank you for the question
My internet provider is Routerless.
Router TP-Link Archer C2
Apple Express is connected to the Roon and allow the connection to the synology storage

What does this does this speed refer to, circled in red? It’s ridiculously slow at 2 Kbps. That doesn’t look “all good” at all despite the app claiming it is

And these are also quite slow even for wifi

I suspect what is shown here is just the current usage, and apparently pretty much idle here. I know the same thing from my modem’s ui.
First pic is nearly idle, i’m just typing something on my phone.

Second pic shows an application running.

@Amay_Villazan
Is this correct?
Or is the throughput really that low?
If my guess is right, could you please try connecting your Nucleus to the TP-Link router with a LAN cable and see how it goes, initially without the synology storage?

Oh ok, may well be.

Sorry, Amay, since two different threads were mixed in this thread, I overlooked it:
Your Core got stuck on an older version, so current remote versions keep crashing.
Please try to carry out the core update as soon as the nucleus is connected to your ISP router hardwired, as described above.

Indeed, which causes the remotes crashing and should be fixed by the Roon OS reinstall, but the problem has turned into the Roon OS failing to reinstall

Hey @Amay_Villazan,

I think I can fix this but the Nucleus is showing as offline right now. Can you get it online and let me know?

Thanks,
Wes

Hi Suedkiez, In spite of this what Lesch wrote. I followed

Hi Wes, thanks for your message. I turned off the Nucleus because I wanted to take it to the Hi-Fi specialist. Now I have plugged it back in.
Thanks in advance and greetings
