Roon doesn't see local audio devices (Windows 10, Realtek, Asus)

I’ve upgraded PC - mobo and cpu are changed. Also moved to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
Installed Roon. First time it worked ok.
Next day all local audio devices are lost.
JRiver sees all devices by the way.
Any ideas what to do with that?
Thanks!

And is there way to connect with support to solve this problem? Or only forum discussion is available?

After playing with antivirus software (NOD32) - switching off/on firewall - the list of devices appears for short time and vanishes after that.

Hi @Dmitry_Roslyakov ----- Thank you for the report and sharing your feedback with us.

Moving forward, can you confirm that you have created security exceptions for both “Roon” and “RAAtServer” on your antivirus software settings? Additionally I would recommend during your troubleshooting to keep the mentioned firewall temporarily inactive.

-Eric

Firewall is inactive.
Exceptions in NOD32 - it’s hard to understand where to do that in their interface. But I’ve added them where I found such option.
In Roon log I see it successfully connects first time:

Fixed by removing Roon with its database and installing again.
Tried re-installing without removing DB - doesn’t work.
Seems like Roon is unusable in my case with local music collection.
Good luck guys!

Edited: worked only after re-install. In several hours all the same: no local audio devices.
Uninstalling Eset NOD32 doesn’t help.

Here are several reports of the same problem:

It looks like Roon is not compatible with recent Asus motherboards and vendor’s Realtek drivers.

Possible solutions:

  1. Removing RAATServer folder before starting Roon. Every time. Default folder location is: C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\RAATServer (need to turn on showing hidden folders in explorer options).
  2. Switching off Realtek device in audio section in Device Manager (press Win + X).
  3. Uninstall Realtek driver.
  4. Keeping System Output not enabled in Roon settings (works for me yet, but I did some manipulations before - at least switched off/on Realtek device and uninstalled some asus software).
